• Fui con Babita y Tony a ver un muchacho de Vietnam para hacer una evaluación de Educación.

Came along with Babita and Tony to visit a guy from Vietnam to make a Training Assessment.

• Tuve una reunión con Babita y Lajaune, de Connexions, para el fondo del programa Skills for Life.

I had a meeting with Babita and Lajaune, from Connexions to talk about the funding of the Skills for Life Programme.

• Se suponía que tenía que escoltar a otro muchacho de Vietman a un colegio para una entrevista... pero hubo un cambio de planes y no sucedió.

I had to escort another Vietnamese guy to a college for an interview... but there was a change of plans, and never happened...

• La mamá de una de las compañeras falleció hace unas 4 semanas, y ayudé a recolectar dinero entre los otros trabajadores sociales para mandarle flores a su casa.

One of the social workers's mom passed away aroung 4 weeks ago and I helped to collect some money to send her some flowers at home.

• Por el programa del Canal 4 (una de mis publicaciones anteriores), recogí unos pines alucivos a Hackney en el Ayuntamiento de la Ciudad, que decían I LOVE HACKNEY, como protesta...

Because of the show aired on Channel 4 (one of my previous posts), I picked up some pins of I LOVE HACKNEY as a protest...

• Fui al banco con Charlotte, para depositar unos giros postales para la gente joven. La acompañé para aprender cómo se tenía que hacer y ésta es tarea mia ahora todos los viernes.

I went to the bank with Charlotte to deposit some money orders or giros at some young people's accounts. So l learned how to do it and this is one of my tasks for every Friday.

• Como teníamos que anunciar el comienzo del Programa Skills for Life, hice un poster para publicitarlo y lo pegamos en las áreas donde lo podían ver los jóvenes. También confeccioné unos pampletos pequeños para pegarlo en los cheques de la gente que nos interesaba que viniera.

As we had to advertise the Skills for Life Programme, I made a poster to advertise it and we put it out at the areas where the young people could see it. I also made some pamphlets to attach t o the cheques of the young people we were targetting.

• Fui al correo a enviar unas cartas.

Went to the post office.

• Lavé mi ropa. Esta vez dejé que las camisas se secaran al viento, para que no se me encogieran más...

I did my laundry. This time, I let my T-shirt to air dry so that they didn's shrink any more...

• Empecé a llamar a los jóvenes que los trabajadores sociales nos recomendaban para el programma SFL, unas 25 o 26 personas.

Started calling the young people the social workers referred to us for the SFL, around 25 or 26 people.

• Reservé el salón de reuniones para convertirlo en un aula para el SFL.

Booked the meeting room to set it up as a classroom.

• Conocí a Fiona, una de las voluntarias anteriores, que me contó su experiencia en Leaving Care Service.

Met Fiona, one of the previous CSVs, who shared her experience at Leaving Care Service with me.

• Hice un poster para Janet, de EBU (Emergency Bed Unit) para una reunión de personal.

I made a poster about a staff meeting for Janet, from the EBU.

• Plata en mano después de cambiar mi cheque, a hacer las compras de la semana.

Once I changed my giro, went to buy the groceries for the week.

• Fui a la biblioteca a buscar materiales para los nuevos proyectos en los que estoy pensando.

Went to the library to look for some resources for the new projects I've been thinking about.

• Llamamos a todos los jovenes que dijeron que iban a venir al programa de SFlL...otra vez.

We called all the young people who said they were attending the SFL programme...again.

• Empecé a escribir la propuesta formal para 3 nuevos proyectos que tengo en mente.

Started writing the formal proposal for the 3 new projects I have in mind.

Esto es lo que me ha mantenido

más tomarme unos embellecedores frequitos...
